TimerResolution 1.2
Publisher's Description:TimerResolution - TimerResolution is an application to change the resolution of the default windows timer. The standard timer on Windows XP can vary between 10 and 25 milliseconds. Therefore if your code uses a timer or sleep value less than the timer resolution on your system you won't be getting the results you expect. The timer resolution will be globally changed while the application is running and will revert to the previous value when it is closed. 1ms timers are achievable using this application User License Agreement:Free for non-commercial use

Latest User Reviews:It doesn`t do anything...It does not change the system timer or it's resolution at all. The Author read a snippet of code from MSDN and read and article from Systinternals about the High Resolution timer, and tried to make a utility for it. The only problem is, the solutions offered were NOT global settings for the PC, rather specific functions for using the Timer in Drivers. First, I make no assurances about the version that can be downloaded from this site, the official site is www.lucashale.com/timerresolution/ The program WILL change the timer to the shortest period (usually ~1ms) when the Maximum button is pressed. The timer will stay at this resolution as long as the utility is running. As soon as the utility is closed the timer will return to the previous setting. This utility does work on Windows NT and Windows XP, it has not been validated on Vista yet. This articles referenced are back ground information for people who would like to learn more about windows timers but the implementation used in TimerResolution uses undocumented methods from ntdll.dll which is not limited to use in drivers. If you have further questions please contact me at the site listed above. Lucas Social bookmarks: RSS:
